We were delighted to welcome a team from Manchester Library to our unique underground storage facility. They had the opportunity to see first-hand how their valuable records are preserved in a secure, climate-controlled environment deep beneath the Cheshire rock salt mine.
At DeepStore, we’re proud to provide heritage organisations with world-class storage solutions that ensure the longevity and safety of irreplaceable collections.

Leslie:
Thanks so much for including me in yesterday’s visit to Deepstore it was extremely interesting on many levels.
Anyway, all in all fascinating to see how they operate.”

Noah:
Thanks again for the opportunity to visit DeepStore, it was a very interesting experience.

Omar was a great host, he was a real expert on the DeepStore processes as well as the wider information about ownership and the other partners.

It was great to get a feel for the grandeur of the mines as well as how much storage space they accommodate, even though all the materials were in boxes, it was nice to understand where we are actually referring people to when we inform them that we hold documents in DeepStore.

For me, it helped with my apprenticeship as I now have a better understanding of archive storage and cataloguing principles surrounding materials that need storage surpassing 100 years.

Antonio:
“I enjoyed very much the visit arranged to the Deepstore archives. Thanks to Omar for his kind welcome, induction and tour.

This kind of immersive experience gave me a better knowledge about the work of all the members of staff do over there and how important will be for the future of our Culture in every aspect.

Definitely an immersive experience is better than just a passive learning.”
