DeepStore’s 2-Tier Services Saves Resolute Management Significant Costs
The partnership between DeepStore and Resolute Management Services Ltd started in 2002. Resolute, a leading insurance run-off company and part of the Berkshire Hathaway Group, first tapped DeepStore when it needed storage for 190,000 boxes that had previously been dispersed among three different locations. By 2005, it became clear that DeepStore could reduce Resolute’s storage costs by implementing the 2-Tier system.
By moving rarely-needed documents to DeepStore’s archive storage in Winsford, Resolute realized a 23 percent cost savings in off-site storage. The company moved 158,000 boxes underground, keeping 32,000 boxes in Wallington, Surrey, where they could be available on the same day, if necessary.
Resolute still can easily retrieve records that are in deep storage, usually in less than 24 hours.
